Nunsmere Hall – A rainy wedding day – Photography and Videography by Harvey Films

A wet and rainy wedding at Nunsmere Hall, Cheshire, for one of the lovliest couples, Ed & Mikaela. Watch their stunning wedding highlight film below:

Nunsmere Hall – Wedding Photography and Videography

We heard from Ed and Mikaela in the midst of lockdown, after they’d had to postpone their already postponed 2020 wedding to 2021. The date change meant they were on the hunt for photography and videography.

Living locally to them meant that we popped up on their google search, and being local to each other also meant that we could meet them for a socially distanced dog walk at Marbury Park, a favourite spot for us and them too! With Nellie our cockapoo on her best behaviour Paul met the lovely couple and their two sweet rescue pups Daisy and Patch. By the end of the walk everyone was firm friends and we were thrilled to hear they wanted us to film and photograph their wedding!

Now as we’ve learnt during this uncertain time, plans are turning out to be a bit useless! Ed and Mikaela had to re-plan their wedding yet again, and a new venue, the lovely Nunsmere Hall, was chosen to host their micro-wedding. A  guest list of just 30 special few was made to fit in with the restrictions.

The day went off without a hitch, despite mother nature throwing one of the wettest May’s on record at them! But what’s a little rain when you’ve dealt with a pandemic getting in the way of marrying your soulmate?!

Rainy weddings always bring that feeling of camaraderie amongst the guests – we Brits love a good bit of interesting weather to talk about and sharing a brolly with someone whilst dashing into church is sure to make you friends for life right? They say its good luck to get rain on your wedding day, so lets hope thats true for Ed and Mikaela too!

Guests all travelled from Nunsmere Hall to church in Nantwich by a vintage routemaster wedding bus, and Sarah went along with them to snap some photos of the fun too! And the father of the groom supplied his beautiful vintage wedding car to transport the bride and her mum and sister to the ceremony. We adore vintage touches like these that made the day that little bit extra special. Other lovely touches were the homemade cake by Ed’s mum and stationary that Mikaela made herself.

After a moving ceremony we all headed back to Nunsmere Hall for dinner. The speeches were given by Mikaela’s Mum, Ed and his bestman Harry, and were so incredibly heartfelt, it was simply lovely to see. Evening entertainment from saxophonist Alistair Grant was fantastic and he perfectly matched the songs he played to the mood in the room, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

It was certainly a very special day indeed, one we are so glad that we got to take part in.

Congratulations Ed and Mikaela – we can’t wait for your big do next year!!
