A Cheshire Spring Wedding

Macy and Jason’s Cheshire wedding took place on a beautiful spring day in April. We’ve fulfilled our role as an Arley Hall wedding videographer many times so it was a pleasure to return to this iconic country house once more. However, this time it was a little different…and extra special! A fusion of a Christian church wedding at St Mary’s Chapel in Arley Hall, followed by a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. It was a beautiful combination and blend of cultures.

After four long years of planning and three reschedules it was finally Macy and Jason’s turn. Unquestionably, we couldn’t have been happier for this wonderful pair. They originally booked us as their Cheshire wedding videographer back in early 2019, with their original wedding date being April 2020. Well, we all know what happened around that time. Further, Jason’s father unfortunately passed away during the period of waiting, so this really has been a most anticipated day.

Family was a strong theme running throughout their day, as was the incredible love they so clearly have for one another. The vows they read to each other in private were some of the most powerful we've ever witnessed and captured on film. We urge you to watch their wedding film and challenge you to not get a lump in your throat, at least once.

“I was looking for a home and I found it in you”.

We know we’re not supposed to have favourites, but an Arley Hall wedding has to be up there as one of them. Not only is it local to us, but the team is always a joy to work with and the setting is simply spectacular. We are very lucky to have such a gem of a wedding venue here in our home county.

Although it was a crisp April day with a chill in the air, spirits were high and everyone was having a wonderful time. Not only is Arley Hall a beautiful venue with stunning historic features and old world charm but the gardens and grounds deserve a mention too. As this wedding took place in early spring, signs of life were starting to appear in the herbaceous border. The trees were starting to bud and the magnolia was in full glorious bloom. It is a true highlight of this time of year which also means we captured some truly breath-taking footage.

Jason helped Macy get ready for the tea ceremony which was a heart-warming, intimate moment. In some modern Chinese weddings, the tea ceremony remains one of the most significant traditions. This is why it was particularly meaningful to Jason. The couple had already had a legal wedding ceremony at their local registry office. However, they hadn’t gone through the formality of the tea ceremony. This ritual is when the newlyweds show their respect to the elders in their families. In turn the elders grant their acceptance of the marriage and officially welcome their child’s partner into the family.

An absolutely magical day at Cheshire's most elegant wedding venue. After waiting two years between their official legal marriage and their wedding day at Arley Hall and losing a dear family member in that time, this union of the two families meant a huge amount to everyone. The whole day was deeply emotional and so special to be a part of. We are truly honoured that they asked us to capture their unforgettable day. It was top to bottom, an absolutely wonderful wedding to document and a brilliant couple to meet. Our sincere congratulations once again to Macy & Jason!
